About

Who made this.

Most platforms make you dig to find out who is behind them, and the answer is usually a company you have never heard of. Freepol is two people. Here they are.

Founder

Vishveshwar Raj Soni

Started Freepol, and runs it. He wrote the site, holds the domain and the database, and is the person accountable for what happens here.

He built it because on every platform where politics gets discussed, people are not arguing with each other. They are arguing with the worst possible version of each other.

Co-founder

Abhijeet Singh

Co-founder. He and Vish wrote the charter together, arguing it out between them until they agreed on all thirteen principles.

He designed the thread structure that enforces it, which is what turns the charter from an intention into something the software can hold people to.

What Freepol is

A place to put a political or societal view into words, have it read properly, and hear the strongest version of the answer. Every discussion runs on thirteen principles that members vote on, and the rules that matter are enforced by the software rather than left to good intentions.

Not for profit
No advertisers, no investors, and nothing sold to anyone. Nobody takes money out of it. That is a commitment about how it is run, not a registered charitable status.
No side
Freepol does not hold a political position. It is open to every view that is willing to be argued for rather than shouted.
Where it stands
In development, and honest about it. The charter is open for votes, the discussion is live, and the rest is being built in public.
Where it is from
India. Written and run from here, open to anyone anywhere.

Who owns it, and who wrote what

Said plainly, because a platform that asks people to put their political views somewhere owes them a clear answer about whose hands those views are in.

Freepol is owned and operated by Vishveshwar Raj Soni. He registered the domain, he holds the hosting and the database, and decisions about the platform are his.

Abhijeet Singh is co-founder, and holds the copyright in the work he authored, the charter and the thread structure among it. Co-founder here means what it sounds like: he was there from the start, and the thing would be different without him.

The source is kept in a Git repository, where every change carries the name of whoever made it and the date they made it. That history is a better record of who wrote what than any claim on a page like this one, and it is the record we would rely on if it ever mattered.
